Scarlet Fever

Today was a pretty uneventful day. My boss was out sick today so I, second in command (so to speak), helped the other managers put out fires. This evening, I started working on some valentine/goodie bags, watched some American Idol and played with my felt.

Yesterday, however, I received news that my niece had strep throat and Scarlet Fever (who new that was still around?!). Poor thing . . . she was asking to go to bed which is extremely unusual for the feisty, high energy three year old that I know. My sister also told me that her throat was so raw (which said toddler never complained of) that when they did the strep swab, there was blood on the swab itself. Not to mention the rash that covered her body . . . How awful, I can't imagine! Doctor gave her antibiotics and today, although I did not get to see her, when I called to check on her, she sounded like she was on the road to recovery.

Sad that I haven't been able to see her since she got sick, I was thinking about this thing she has been asking me to make. (Side note: she knows auntie is crafty and thinks my studio is the greatest thing on earth, besides Wall-e and pink puppy dogs, of course) I've been dabbling with felt and decided to try to make her the little Eve plushie she's been asking for. My hand-stitching is definitely not to perfection and once I finished it, I wished I had gone about it differently but I'm sure the three year old won't notice . . . or will she . . . she is too smart for her own good . . . naahhh, she won't notice, it's EVE! Anywho, here she is, what do you think? Should I stick to paper crafting?
