{Vintage Car Party}

Remember this post about the party invitation with the vintage cars? Well, this weekend was my nephew’s 2nd birthday party so here are pictures of the party decorations my sister came up with and the other paper goodies I designed.

I’ve been debating on putting party sets like this in the {embellish*ology} shop and I still haven’t decided but I’d love to hear your thoughts.

{Deck the Halls!}

Believe it or not, my house in the last few years was totally decked out at Christmas time. It was like a winter wonderland. This Christmas I’ve decided to Simplify a little bit so I went through all my decorations and am sending about half of them to charity.
Yeah, I’ll probably end up having a whole new collection of stuff but for now, I’m going with less is more.
House LightsA couple years ago we had icicle lights and they looked AMAZING that is until the Oklahoma wind blew them up on the roof. So, this year, we switched to red & white. My goal is to eventually make it look like a gingerbread house.

Jingle SleighLast minute, half-off purchase at Hobby Lobby. I’m usually horrible at vignettes/centerpieces but I was pretty pleased with this one.

This little tree is a new addition and I love how it turned out. I actually kinda like it more than our big tree downstairs.
Well, that’s it. If you want to see more, I’ll have some pics on Flickr.

Merry Christmas!

{It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas}

Well, it has for some time now but I’m just now getting all my pictures uploaded. There are lots of pics so I think I’m going to have to do this in more than one post.
Enjoy!
Blue&White-SnowmenThese little guys greet you when you walk in the front door.
Christmas-TreeTree in the daytime. My tree use to be light blue, white & silver but I’ve added some red and turquoise this year.
Candy Cane CenterpieceCenterpiece & Snowman Dishes in Dining Room. Can you tell I just threw a bunch of leftovers together for the centerpiece?
Acrylic SnowmanThe string of lights broke on this Acrylic Snowman. :( I have quite the collection but didn’t want to show you my messy kitchen in the background :)
red navy snowmenHow cute are these guys?
White-SnowmenMy snowman village. My mom bought me the set on the right. It’s one of my favorite decorations.
Ok, that’s all you get for now. Come back tomorrow and check out the rest of my decor.

{Fall Decorating}

When we got back from vacation, hubby decided he was going to be the Energizer Bunny and cleaned out & moved the buffet that we were using as an island in the kitchen into the living room. We had been talking about it for a while but I just didn’t feel like finding places for the stuff that was in it.
When I saw it in the living room, I immediately lit up and thought, “I could create little holiday vignettes!” and to work I went. I moved the apothecary jars from our sofa table over to the buffet and filled them with fall fillers, I replaced the candles with pumpkins and last night, I whipped up this little banner that says, “Give Thanks”. I would still like to add a couple of things but overall, I’m pretty happy with the way it looks.
Have you started your fall decorating yet? I would love to see . . . leave me a comment with a link.  :D
