Current Best Seller

We've received lots of ice this week. I will be perfectly happy when it all goes away. I am sooo ready for summer . . . ready for that HOT weather. I really dislike the cold.

Something that is keeping me bright and sunny amidst this wintery weather are these cute little trees I've been making. They seem to be my best seller these days. You can get them here. I will keep re-listing them as long as you keep buying them. :)

Weekend in Review

This weekend was a pretty busy weekend for me. Friday night we did our typical eating out with family thing. Saturday afternoon, I took my little sis to get a pedi for her birthday. Then Saturday night, we went to the Red Pin Bowling Lounge for her "surprise"party.

The Red Pin is a really cool upscale bowling alley/restaurant/lounge with 10 lanes and big screens above the lanes that play music videos. We had a lot of fun and I think she enjoyed herself. Here are some more pics from the party.

(Mom & Sis)

(Hubby & Me)

How cute is this little guy? (Brother in law & nephew)

(Niece & Cousin)
Everyone seemed to have a good time. We enjoyed the food, bowling and the birthday cupcakes! All in all the party was a success.
Don't forget my Etsyversary sale is going on tonight until midnight! See this post for details.
Hope everyone has a great week!

Also, tomorrow, Monday January 26th is my 2 year anniversary on Etsy. To celebrate, I am offering free shipping on all purchases made from midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow. The Big 3-0

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIL' SIS!!!!

Today is my lil' sis's 30th birthday. Even though we are not far apart in age (or location), I can't believe that she is 30 and married with two kids! We have come along way, her and I . . . from being sworn enemies when we were kids (knives were sometimes involved . . . that's a story for another time) to best friends who live only a stone's throw away from each other.

Her hubby and I planned a little party for her on Saturday night that I am excited about . . . I hope I'm not more excited than she is when she finds out where we are having the party. I would tell you but there is a chance that she will read this and then I will be in big trouble! I will give details (and surely pics) later. . .

Scarlet Fever Update

Just thought I would let everyone know that the toddler is doing well. Thanks to some pretty potent antibiotics, she is almost back to 100%. Tonight, they came by so I could give her the Eve plushie that I made her last night and she loved it! However, as soon as she said "thank you", she said, "now can you make me a Wall-e?" Oy, I knew that was coming . . . I told her that that was a little harder to do and I'd have to work on it. Then the boys went upstairs to watch Rambo and the girls stayed downstairs and played Smooth Moves on the Wii (only because the toddler was insistent that she play). I have to say, she did pretty well for 3 years old.

Scarlet Fever

Today was a pretty uneventful day. My boss was out sick today so I, second in command (so to speak), helped the other managers put out fires. This evening, I started working on some valentine/goodie bags, watched some American Idol and played with my felt.

Yesterday, however, I received news that my niece had strep throat and Scarlet Fever (who new that was still around?!). Poor thing . . . she was asking to go to bed which is extremely unusual for the feisty, high energy three year old that I know. My sister also told me that her throat was so raw (which said toddler never complained of) that when they did the strep swab, there was blood on the swab itself. Not to mention the rash that covered her body . . . How awful, I can't imagine! Doctor gave her antibiotics and today, although I did not get to see her, when I called to check on her, she sounded like she was on the road to recovery.

Sad that I haven't been able to see her since she got sick, I was thinking about this thing she has been asking me to make. (Side note: she knows auntie is crafty and thinks my studio is the greatest thing on earth, besides Wall-e and pink puppy dogs, of course) I've been dabbling with felt and decided to try to make her the little Eve plushie she's been asking for. My hand-stitching is definitely not to perfection and once I finished it, I wished I had gone about it differently but I'm sure the three year old won't notice . . . or will she . . . she is too smart for her own good . . . naahhh, she won't notice, it's EVE! Anywho, here she is, what do you think? Should I stick to paper crafting?

Enjoying my Studio

Well, my newly remodeled studio is no longer the nice and tidy studio it was a couple of weeks ago. I new it wouldn't last. However, a messy studio means that I have been busy, busy . . . which is good for you! :D
You can see more of the new studio as well as before pics here.

New Things at A Scrappy Design

For 2009, I am going to be trying fresh, fun, and new things.

#1 I'm trying out this new blog (was frequently frustrated with the other one) let me know your thoughts. If you want to compare, here is my other blog: http://myblog.ascrappydesign.com/

#2 I've started a new line of products called "Forest Friends". You can find these goodies by going to the Forest Friends section of my Etsy shop. I hope you like these little embellies as much as I have enjoyed making them. I only have a few items in there now but hope to add more in the weeks to come. Your thoughts on my new line is also greatly appreciated.

#3 Starting Feb 1, I will be having two weekly features here on my blog. The first feature, "Tuesday Teaser" will be a special offer for my shop that will run starting at midnight on Mondays and will end Tuesday at midnight. The second feature, called Feature Friday, will be a feature of some of my favorite Etsy sellers, websites, products, etc.

I really hope that if you have just started following me (or already have been), that you will continue to do so as I am very excited about this year and the things I have planned. I believe that 2009 is going to be a good year for all things handmade!
